Of them here in the Valley

A lifetime in the trade

Robert has been cutting hair since 1981. Forty five years of flat tops, fades, pompadours, tapers, and the kind of straight razor line no machine is ever going to give you.

The shops changed over the years. Different chairs, different corners of the map, different names over the door. The hands did not.

The last ten of those years have been here in the San Fernando Valley. Arleta is where the chair sits now, and word gets around the way it always has: one good cut at a time.

No apprentice. No receptionist. No app to download. One barber, one chair, one number to call.

Call for the address, then pull up and sit down. Coffee on, fan running, radio low. Walk in when the chair is open, but a call gets you a time and skips the wait.

Best times to walk in: mid morning Tuesday through Thursday. Saturdays fill up early.

For clients who cannot easily get to the shop. Robert loads the kit, lays down a drop cloth, cuts, cleans up, and leaves the place the way he found it.

  2. Robert confirms the day, the time, and the price.
  3. He shows up with everything. You do not lift a finger.
